Packing for a two-day trip feels like it takes forever, especially when you are going to a fashion blogger conference. At these kinds of events, it's easy to put a lot of pressure on yourself to dress to impress, but I tried to just pull out what I felt good in and kept in mind that my main goal was to enjoy myself and visit with my friends. But, that didn't stop me from running to Marshalls and TJ Maxx at the last minute to see if I could find something new! I shop everywhere and love the steals at those stores, which are pretty convenient to my house.
For the travel day I wanted to be comfortable, so I wore ankle jeans and a trendy, silky tank with gold accessories. I snapped this pic just before heading out the door. Hair's lookin' good thanks to my Remington Wide Styling Wand. I've gotten so much better at using it- barely takes any time now. (But I still wear the glove!)
The outfit I originally planned for Day 2 (black Express shorts and a black and white striped blouse- similar) was ruined when I went to iron the blouse and burned a giant hole into it. I was rushing and not paying attention to the heat setting. :( Luckily, I had a backup outfit that was more colorful anyway and worked out fine. The skirt is one of the things I found at TJ Maxx at my last minute shopping trip. I love that it fit perfectly off the rack.
The romper was also a fun last minute find for only $16.99! Reminds me of disco fever with the wide leg. ;) And with wedges, I didn't have to hem it! I wore this on the last day and also to the airport back home with a scarf- it was really comfy to travel in.
Although my blog will remain mainly home decor / organization / family, I plan to incorporate fashion posts on Wednesdays and Weekend Sale posts on Fridays. Except for last weekend, I really haven't shopped for clothes this year. I'm keeping my eye out for good deals and want to find some fun Spring/Summer looks soon! I hope you enjoy- let me know! :)

Morning! I've been umming and ahhing about whether or not to feature this home as it's been published across the blogosphere at an alarming rate. But then I thought, what happens if you miss it?!! Everyone needs to see this home with it's black, white, brass and copper colour scheme and everything else on trend in the Scandinavian interior design world right now. So here it is, a monochrome Gothenburg pad in all it's glory, up for grabs through Stadshem. Who's on the case?!
Tonight I'm very sad to be missing the launch party for new book Design Bloggers At Home. Luckily my lovely parents will be attending on my behalf - and I've asked them to saya big hello to the author Ellie Tennant, photographer Rachel Whiting, publishers Ryland, Peters & Small and all the talented bloggers who also appeared in the book! I hope you have a great night, sorry to be missing it.
Well, it was time to take down the Easter bunny and eggs in exchange for some Spring-into-Summer dining room decor. This World Market Everett Foyer Table has been a good buy and I enjoy changing out the decor with the seasons. I'm still loving the HomeGoods lamps, so I kept them, but brought in some books for color in pink, blue, aqua and green and then shopped my house for added accessories.
The 'Hello Sunshine' framed print is actually a greeting card- lots of things can be art and frame worthy.
I bought some faux boxwood plants at Steinmart years ago and spray painted the pots from brown to white. My owl is my good luck charm since it reminds me of my Grandma (she collects owls).
Porcelain ginger jars make great bookshelf and decor accessories. I found these at HomeGoods. I'm pretty sure the tea light bird is from Target.
In just a couple months, it will be time to turn this table into Summer mode! I'm getting excited! My son is in swimming lessons now and I see lots of pool days in our future. :)
To see other ways I've styled the World Market Everett Foyer table, check out my Home Tour.

I'm so over excited about today's home tour: an incredible Italian loft created by architects Amorfo. It's a little like a museum - every piece has been carefully selected for it's aesthetics whether mid-century, industrial or designer - and exhibited against a backdrop of concrete / white walls and floors and angled ceilings. Modern day architecture and minimalism at it's best! I would add soft textiles such as colourful rugs, throws and cushions to make it my home. How about you?
Is this your kind of style? Anything that stands out to you in particular? I love the huge glass door which opens the entire space out onto the terrace!
You can see more pictures of this space here if you'd like.
