A beautiful white apartment with notes of grey, green and brass

Normally I try to select the best pictures from a home tour so you can get an idea of the space. Today I had no option but to show the complete home. Every. Single. Angle. Because, to me, this Swedish home in Gothenburg is simply beautiful! Grey, green and brass, what a fabulous colour combination and so very now!

Stadshem

Wow, what an incredible space, don't you think?! Can you believe it's actually for sale....Gothenburg anyone?!

It definitely calls for a what's what list (I wish I knew where every singe item is from but sadly I don't so we'll need to work together on this one). Here's my round up: HAY DLM side table, Grey lamp from IKEA, Love this and this cushion with triangles. Pia Wallén cross blanket. Thonet 214 and 209 chair. Golden Bell light. 'D' and 'X' posters from here. Source a vintage black leather sofa on Lauritz. The fireplace is a classic Swedish 'Kakelugn'. Is there anything you recognise and love?

Have a lovely day!

A beautiful Gothenburg home with a hint of English style

Located in Gothenburg, Sweden, this home belongs to Cattis, the blogger behind Another Side Of This Life, her husband Robert and daughter Stella and has been beautifully captured by Lovely Life. I can spot the Swedish style (it's in Gothenburg after all) but their's a definite English stamp to it too, which is probably why it resonates with me so much. Believe it or not it's actually an apartment rather than a house!

Could you live here?

I love the touches of green (dark green has recently the accent colour in my sitting room thanks to my 1940's scissor lamp), it such a perfect colour for spring, For more green-in-the-home inspiration you might want to check out this very cool Skåne home, this kitchen with a green floor, and this post on adding a touch of green to your home. Green day....

Have a wonderful day!

The house gardener

I'm a big fan of indoor plants, not only  do they look beautiful but word has it they also help to purify air and relieve stress. Forget standard pots though. Indoor plants have had something of a make-over of late and terracotta planters have been replaced by terrarium pyramids, eclectic glass vessels and DIY plant hangers. I was so excited to discover the new book 'The House Gardener' by Isabelle Palmer which is packed with indoor gardening tips such as how to create your own terrarium, table centre or even a fairy-tale garden for children. Who needs the great outdoors?!

The House Gardener by Isabelle Palmer is published by CICO Books and is available from rylandpeters.com

Loving this indoor plant make-over, how about you?

I had a quick look around the internet and found these fab terrariums from Etsy. I also love this plant hanger and these very cool wall vessels by 1012 Terra. Or if you've got some free time over Easter how about this copper plant holder DIY project?!

I've hoarded tonnes more indoor plant inspiration on my 'Greenery' board on Pinterest too.

Have a lovely Tuesday!

A white and green apartment with a relaxed vintage vibe

I'm not sure if it's the green and white colour scheme or the dark wood vintage touches or perhaps the complete mix, but there's something super relaxed about this apartment in Södermalm, Stockholm. Like yesterday's home it's a teeny weeny living area of  just 50 metres square. In order to create two bedrooms the owners have combined the kitchen and sitting room area (if you're struggling to get a grip on the plan you can see it here). There's something very cosy about a sofa in the kitchen and a fireplace in the bedroom don't you think?

A beautifully simple home with green floors

I'm always showing homes with white floors, black floorswood floors and even concrete floors. But what about green floors?! This surprising twist to an otherwise (beautiful) simple, white Australian home looks utterly fab and tells us that perhaps we need to think outside the usual colour scope? To get the look it's important to balance it with other items in the same shade (note the green tap and accessories in the kitchen, vases on the dining room table and vintage scales by the fireplace). Love the mid-century furniture too...

Could you go green? Or perhaps you've seen another colour somewhere you like?

I've got something exciting to share with you tomorrow so make sure you pop back.....oooo, what could it be?!

Have a lovely day

Adding a touch of green to your home

So it snowed here yesterday. Yes, I know, that's just rude. I mean, what happened to spring?! I'm still going to embrace greenery though, only it'll have to be indoors! So for those of you, who like me are dying for a spring feel, here are some very cool ways to turn your world green...Ok and a bed outdoors (note to self - will require a very very very good duvet).

I absolutely love the first pic with the greenery collage by stylist Tina Hellberg. What about you?

I hope you all have a lovely Friday! And may the snow melt away in your parts of the world (but umm not the parts where it's not meant to...i.e. the Poles etc....of course) and show beautiful fields of green..

Pops of green in a Skåne home

Morning all! My week's been brightened up by these pics of a turn of the century house in Landskrona, right here in Skåne, Sweden. I love the pops of green and the birdy print in the bedroom. Thank you Hus o Hem!

The reading lamp is Arne Jacobsen. The lovely brown throw and ceramic bowl are from one of my favourite shops here in Skåne - Udda Tina.

The lovely bright tins used to store toys are from the carnival Lundakarnevalen

The chest of drawers was found in the basement and painted grass green

I love the green in the children's bedroom. According to GharExpert  green adds freshness, peace and increases brain power. That's me sold! You?! For more images visit Swedish magazine Hus o Hem.
