Details from a lovely, relaxed and vibrant family home

After yesterday's 'man cave' (aka the fabulous Stockholm home of a fashion stylist), I thought today it was only fair to go for something a little more feminine. Situated in the 'sunshine state' of Florida, this home belongs to photographer Jen Smith, her 'handy' husband and two children. Pitched against a mainly white background, the beauty of this lovely light filled space lies in the detail. Bold textiles, artwork which pops and botanical touches add a ray of sunshine to every corner of the home. In fact, I couldn't imagine that this space is anything but sunny even on a rainy day, could you?

Is this your kind of style?

I used to be colour shy but recently I've noticed bright hues are slowly creeping into my home (I'm particularly fond of pinks). And now that spring's on it's way (I say, optimistically) I'm loving oh so fab Boucherouite or vintage kilim rugs, bold Turkish Kilim and intricate threadwork pillows / cushions from Thailand. And even weaved wall hangings such as these by MaryanneMoodie and this DIY Macrame one (project for the weekend perhaps?!).

Another touch I'm looking at for my home is sea-scape artwork and Jen's shop will be my first stop!

More bright and beautiful homes captured by Brittany Ambridge include this wonderful mexican space,  the Californian home of Annie Ziegler and the zen home of a LA fashion designer.

Have a lovely, bright, sun-shiny day!

A Swedish home with a relaxed, boho vibe

We often see homes packed with designer pieces, and although beautiful, they're not always achievable.  I therefore love homes designed on a shoestring budget using creativity, patience (to find the right items as they come up) and a sense of fun. The truly personal family home of ceramicist, designer and stylist Frida Anthin Broberg, Sebastien Broberg and their children Jack (6) and Bill (5) situated in Rönne, Sweden is a perfect example of this. Frida and Sebastien believe 'an interior should be fueled by desire rather than aesthetics' and their space pays homage to this. Teeming with vintage finds and bold splashes of colour, this lovely relaxed, boho living space is perfect inspiration for decorating without a big budget, don't you think?

What do you think? Could you live here?

Other fab homes with a similar vibe include Part I and Part II of Johanna Gartmyr's cool home (the castle in the little girl's room is my most pinned image ever!), an eclectic Norwegian home, and this fab home packed with vintage pieces. And for the boho look check out these homes.

PS Etsy is a great source for retro items. My little girls also have the Swedish classic Kånken mini rucksack, shown here on the back of the chairs - so cute!

Have a lovely day!

A beautiful boho Mexican home

Have you ever been to Mexico? I once went backpacking there and still think about some of the beautiful places I visited today (Tulum was my all time favourite). Have you ever been? I previously wrote that this home belonged to Brittany Ambridge, this is incorrect - my apologies. The photos were taken by the talented Brittany but the home belongs to Brittney Borjeson, who also designed the space, high up in the hills of Sayalita and overlooking the Pacific. The home recently featured in Domino Magazine and the images took me straight back to my wonderful days in central America. I love the all white (of course!) but also the wistful bohemian touches. Brittany created most of the furniture herself and added natural materials in keeping with the surrounding nature. The boho look is making a big come back this autumn and winter, and I'm taking my inspiration from this two bedroom home!

Could you live here?!

For the full article and more images of this home check out the piece at Domino.

I think this is the first Mexican home I have shown on this blog. However I have shown a few homes from South America on here. Do you remember this beautiful beach house in Uruguay and this fabulous beach villa in Brazil?! Lest you could forget?!

Click here for more bohemian style inspiration (scroll past this first home).

The last few days I have also been enjoying a little piece of paradise myself and currently making my way around Fyn (the middle Danish island) on route to Aeroe island. It's slightly different from Mexico but beautiful in its own way. Any tips for Aeroe welcome!

Have a wonderful weekend, see you in a couple of days!

PS Thank you for your patience while I've been on holiday July. It's back to normal next week with a post every single day.

A Norwegian space with a boho / rustic touch

Morning! I hope you had a great weekend?! Southern Sweden is basking in sunshine right now, it's been so wonderful to be outside from dawn to dusk! I thought I'd kick off the week with the lovely rustic home of interior stylist / photographer Line from Vintagepiken. I have shown a few pics of this beautiful Norwegian boho space before and now it's been updated with a set of the oh so fab Schooley lights over the dining table and textiles (on table and floor) from Private 0204. I had to write to Line and ask her if those peaches were as soft and succulent as they look and she confirmed that they were indeed!

So lovely don't you think?

I love the way the table has been decorated don't you? Perfect for lunch inside on a rainy summer's day.

You might recognise the rustic workman's stool as I have a set I use as bedside tables in my bedroom. There are two for sale here and actually if you search for 'stools' on LiveAuctioneers a whole host of really beautiful vintage industrial stools come up.

For more bohemian inspiration this morning check out more lovely home tours here and spaces with rustic charm here (scroll passed this one above which will come out top).

Have a wonderful day!!

Home tour: Anne Louise Breiner

I've gone stylist Rikke Graff Juel crazy this week. Yesterday we took a peek at Anne Mette Jensen Skodborg's lovely home. And today I'd like to show you the Copenhagen apartment of Anne Louise Breiner of BALlab which has also been styled by Rikke. There's just so much inspiration to be taken from this space from the artwork and mismatched chairs around the dining table to the flea market / mid century finds and pretty spring flowers. Lovely, lovely, lovely!

Tricky to actually choose a favourite room (perhaps the bedroom?) and hard to believe this is all aqueezed into 90 metres of space! It makes think I need to start rummaging around the local flea markets more (and pay a visit to the local flower shop!).

PS Grand prix chair envy!

The family home of a Danish stylist

This Danish family home owned by the talented stylist Camilla Tang Paylecke of blog Hunch is perfect! Homely, yet cool. Light and bright but full of personal touches. And the perfect blend of Scandinavian designer pieces, mid century finds and pretty vintage items. What a truly inspiring home!

What are your thoughts? Any styling ideas you love?

So many cute and clever blends, I think one of my favourites is the Eames side chair with the mid-century writing desk. I could sit there and work all week!

Thank you to Camilla for the kind permission to show these pics.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Eclectic boho London flat with a touch of rock n roll

I thought I'd shake up the blog a bit with this eclectic boho London flat  Very rock n' roll! There are bohemian elements I totally love such as the netted room divider, the peacock chairs and shabby white floors with painted black diamonds - and other areas where um, I'm not quite so sure, such as the netting around the sink. But one's thing for sure, it's fun, quirky, very personal and perfect for a Friday night!
