Landscaping Complete

The morning I went to the house to check on the progress and found the landscaping complete was such a happy day.  It was about 9:00 a.m. and so very serene and peaceful here.  I am so enjoying praying over this home and thanking God for all of the blessings He has bestowed on our family.  The only things left to finish the exterior are: 1) install shutters; 2) paint the window frames; 3) add house number and mailbox; and 4) install front door.

Here are some other shots:

Looking forward to those backyard barbeques.  There is a rose bush and room for me to plant a small herb garden:)

Red, White & Blue

Have you been following the World Cup? We have. I think it comes with growing up with a Chilean father. Between the 4th of July around the corner, team USA (even though they are out) and team Chile (playing today) I am feeling the red, white and blue....And my favorite for last (this is the mood I am in)....

Nursery Inspiration (Jungle)

How fun to have a wee little one to decorate for!   Here's a glimpse of the beginning of the nursery:

We have a crib very similar to this and matching changing table:

via Babi Italia  We got ours at BabiesRUs.

and this rug with "J":

I was initially thinking of doing some type of mural and found this adorable image:

I ultimately decided against the mural since we have wainscotting, but I still loved the scene and colors so I decided to do a play on a jungle theme.

We have some jungle animals:

and this giraffe that I couldn't pass up from Z Gallerie

I'd like to get a bookcase and maybe a small dresser, but his clothes may all just be fine in his closet since it has a built-in shelf.   We are also going to hang his baby portrait in the room (sorry for the blurry pic, the canvas-wrapped photo is still in the plastic for safekeeping until we move in 2 weeks:)

How cute is that?

Quiet Time

Safety is not found in the absence of danger but in the presence of God.
We want God to change our circumstances, but God wants to use our circumstances to change us.

Christians are supposed to be the light of the world, but you can't be a light if you are not plugged in.

Style Saturday: Wedges

I love wedge sandals for summer.  For starters, I'm really short (5'1) so I love the height they give.  Plus, they are generally more comforable than heels and dressy enough for me to wear to work.  I've literally worn these everyday to work since I went back from maternity leave (I have them in gold and silver so they go with everything).

And they come in other summery colors:
