This relaxed, boho apartment in Stockholm has been furnished with a mix of mid-century, industrial and contemporary Scandinavian. It's the kind of place i cold see myself instantly feeling at home in. I particularly love the day bed and step ladder as a bed side table. One other thing I noticed was the wiring / cables. Usually homes are styled within an inch of their lives so cables are either hidden or photo-shopped out. In this case they're entirely visible - and I have to say, it's kind of refreshing. Although it hasn't stopped me from providing a few cool cable tips below!
I love the relaxed, raw vibe of this apartment, how about you?
I see they have the Uten.silo organiser which is a favourite of mine, I've been thinking about adding one to my home work space. What do you think?
Back to the cables! If like me, your power chords are a bit of a battle, the best thing to do would be to get them chased into the wall by an electrician. But the good news is there are other cool ways with wires. Here's my round-up of fab DIY ideas:
Hi friends! Are you getting all those last-minute Thanksgiving preparations done? Today, I'm cooking up some dishes to take to Thanksgiving brunch at my parents (sour cream coffee cake) and a late lunch at my sis-n-law's house (jalepeno creamed corn, ham and cheese sliders, chile con queso). I feel stretchy pants coming on. :) Then, we need to get a new Christmas tree- I pulled ours out and after 7 years, it's finally seen it's last day. Hopefully, you get a little time off to spend with your friends and family and a break from work! I've been home with my son this week, but last week was super busy. I don't dress up to go to an office anymore, but I still love fashion and I like to look pulled together (most days!). It's been cold here, so I've been keeping warm with pants, vests, and scarves. Here's a look at outfits lately.
For a casual running around day, I adore this 'lovebird' sweater. I got an xs, but if you got it a little on the roomier side, it would be cute to layer another top underneath.
The heart on the back is a cute detail. Would be cute to show it off with a messy top knot.
My camo pants are old from GAP, but you can find similar here. They are a perfect 'neutral' pant that you can wear so much with. I'm still loving these flat, comfy tall grey boots. My chunky scarf is also old, here's one similar.
Puffy vests are on heavy rotation around here. I think my red and mint ones are my favorite. The mint is just such a pretty color and kind of unexpected around the holidays. Old Navy has the best prices/quality vests I've seen in awhile. Lots of colors and sizes to choose from.
I ordered this star button-down shirt from Ann Taylor, but I love it even more in person. How sweet are those tiny stars? And bonus, it's 40% off. The necklace is Stella & Dot, but it's one of those necklaces you can wear multiple ways because there are different strands.
I'm seriously in love with this faux fur vest that my friend Courtney told me about. We are both on the petite side, although she's got about 7 inches on me. I'm in an XS and she got the Medium. I've worn it on a date night with a black and white striped top and again to a school function last week. The black pants are the same that I wore with the mint vest- it's hard to tell but they have a stripe detail on the side that makes them a little more special. They are a skinny pant, love them with booties.
I've been asked about red lips lately, so I wanted to share my current go-to red lipstick- it's Mac Red (which is so old I should probably toss it), but I found a similar color, Salon Rouge. A bold lip looks good this time of year. Don't be afraid to try it. I needed a little convincing too, but now I'm into it!
I love blue. It's not a colour I've used in my own home but I grew up in a house with blue velvet chesterfield sofas exactly like this one (for a modern update check out the one in this apartment). I particularly love the combination of dark blue and beige or cognac, it looks so smart don't you think? It was the blue sofa (from Funky Furniture) and rattan rug which inspired me to show the San Francisco home of Kate Davison and her partner Jesse today. There's something extremely relaxed and yet very cool about their space over all. I could pad around here today, how about you?
I have to say, I love the string lighting in the back garden. My sister recently bought this outdoor string lighting for her garden. probably the nicest I've seen. Although I do love some twinkly fairy lights at Christmas too (remember my 'dream' party post?!).
You can find out where nearly everything in this is home is from here.
For more blue and beige / cognac / copper inspiration it's well worth taking a look through all of these lovely home tours.
A big thank you to Kate for sending me the images for today's post, I do love to receive home tour pics in my inbox - please do send me yours too!
Have a lovely day!
