A home with grey accents and a mix of old and new

It's no secret that grey is huge this Autumn - whether it's how you dress or decorate. I've seen a few fabulous homes already this year that have gone all out (here, here and here). And this home is another fine example. It's extremely clever how the owners have used different features for the grey accent - whether it's a wall, door or breakfast bar. And there are so many textures at play: concrete, wood, leather which all work together to add warmth and  interest. I love the mix of old and new too. Great inspiration for a Tuesday!

Love this space! It's totally unique, personal and relaxed. I'm not sure if I could do the grey myself but it totally works here. What do you think?

Have a lovely day!

DIY Wooden Tassel Bracelets & Necklace

Did y'all have a nice, long weekend?  Best part about it is a short work week! :) We went on a short road trip to Austin for the University of Texas college football game opener (our 2nd annual trip with our son).

I can't pretend I'm crazy about the game, but I love the football experience, being there with all the people and especially watching my son get so into the game.  I asked him how he knew when to cheer and he explained, "You cheer when they tackle down and when they get a touchdown."  Okay, got it.

And then we got to visit our good friends who live "in the country" and have a very relaxing and welcoming home.  I miss my girlfriend since she moved, but we're still making opportunities to get together.  It's awesome to get out of the hustle and bustle of our daily lives for a slow day with friends (and good food)! The homemade vanilla ice cream was to die for!

Back at home, ever since I got my office closet organized, I've been enjoying doing more crafty stuff.  It's not just that I can actually see and access my stash of goodies and supplies, but since the clutter has been cleared out, it's given me fresh breathing space to get creative.  You know the feeling, I'm sure.

Y'all know I like easy DIY projects.  This time, I made bracelets and a necklace with wooden beads, leather cord, and colorful stands.

Making this necklace was a throwback to younger days of simply stringing beads onto the cord in a pattern that looks good to your eye, with larger beads at the bottom, and smaller beads toward the top.

And then I folded the strands over the cord, tied it off with a coordinating color, and cut them.  I like keeping this necklace in neutral, earthy tones.

For the bracelets, I added a tassel to two wooden stretchy bracelets I already had, and then made a third bracelet with wooden beads and the leather cord.

Then, as you can see below, I cut the tassels a bit shorter so they looked better when wearing them.  The bracelet I made below would've been better with a stretchy cord, so that it's not so hard to get on and off.

Here's to getting organized and crafty!

Sobre ruedas con estilo / Stylish on wheels,

Para muchos han terminado las vacaciones, pero otros las empiezan, ¿quizás en una caravana,
tan campestre, fresca y romántica como esta?

Quiet Time

A calm white Swedish home

Good morning and hello September! I read somewhere that September is meant to be the most relaxing month of the year. So let's put that to the test! Today's home tour is the picture of calm. It's been decorated in white throughout with just a touch of black and green throughout to create the perfect balance. A great way to start a relaxing month don't you think?!

I had a long chat with a friend last night about whether she should paint her bedroom floor light grey or grey 'wash it'  (yes, we take these things very seriously!). Looking at this home, I think I know the answer. What do you think?

Love, love love the Pia Wallén Cross Blanket as seen in the bedroom.

Some exciting news: being British you can imagine how much I love my tea. I'm therefore delighted to welcome new sponsor LØv Organic, producers of the most delicious, refreshing and soothing organic tea (did I also mention the packaging is beautiful?!). So exciting!  This September they're holding a 'LØv is' campaign and the lovely LØv Organic team are offering us all 15% off with code SCANDINAVIAN. Yay! Since it's the 'relaxing' month I'm going for LØv is Pure and the LØv is Zen variety (although I also have a bit of a penchant for Ginger-Lemon green tea). How about you?  You can keep up to date with the latest Løv Organics blends on Facebook and their international newsletter.

Oh and another note Kids Brand Store are celebrating their 3 year jubileum with 15% off everything (including my favourites Noa Noa, Molo and ChillNorway) for the next three days. Just thought you might want to know...see you there!!

Have a wonderful start to the week!
